Ahhhhhh B-B-Q Ribs

I decided to post this picture of the grandkidlets and the Bub-Miester because it was, after all, taken this summer. Yep, the Oregon coast can be a little windy and chilly even in late July.

It is a summer picture and summers are all about bar-b-q. And...since it's still summer we decided to bar-b-q'd spareribs.

Man were they ever good! I did a dry rub of garlic powder, black pepper, oregano, cumin, and chili powder. Then I slow cooked them in the oven for a couple of hours.

While the ribs were cooking I made a broccoli and cauliflower salad and some mac and cheese. Once everything was done, we put the ribs on the grill and basted them in bar-b-q sauce, cooking them until they were heated through and had lovely grill marks on them.

We decided to go with a patriotic/picnic theme and set the table with red-white-and blue place mats along with red and white checked napkins. Since we were feeling all picnic-ish I decided to serve our lemonade in mason jars. The table was festive and fun and I have to admit dinner was yum, yum, yummy!
